Let the Children play

Play is their work and IT IS IMPORTANT!

 Children need the freedom and time to PLAY

Play is not a luxury  Play is 

                      Play is a NECESSITY  

  Play is

                    the brains favorite

   way of learning

 it’s where they learn HOW TO learn

I feel that right now at this moment, MY children need time to just BE…. Time to create…..To Dream ….TO IMAGINE! Time by themselves without a scheduled activity, time without an adult (me) telling them what they should be thinking about or how they should be acting. Our culture has had me convinced that I am not a good parent unless my kids are in every activity available. So, I’ve paid for gymnastics, ballet, soccer and anything else our community and friends tell us is “necessary”. I’m not saying that all those things are bad, but maybe, just maybe they NEED free time more than they need ballet, time to climb a tree over Gymnastics, time to go out in the yard and chase butterflies instead of soccer. I don’t have all the answers but I do believe with all my heart that something needs to change. …..

My children need more time to BE CHILDREN.
