My Sister Dawn started a raw beauty Challenge on Facebook, encouraging women to embrace what Raw Beauty could be for them. Each of us sharing photos without makeup, in the raw and being proud of what we are without the “Mask”. I participated and as I watched the photos of these beautiful woman coming through my email. All so beautiful and so different, it really made me think about the way the world labels people..especially women. Who says “this is normal” “this is beautiful” Media Maybe? Or, “they” Either way, it’s frustrating and I would like to use the little voice I have here to say How I feel:))
I dislike labels, especially when they are put on me
He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away. ~Raymond Hull
What label would the world give me??
Christian, Witch, Fat, Ugly, Crazy, Sweet, Hippie, Bitchy, Opinionated, Timid, bad skin, good skin, Worried, Atheist, Optimist, unrealistic….
I wonder…
But you have to realize
I can be all these things you project on me
Cause I’m beautiful to me
I need that to be enough for you
Need that to be enough for you
Cause It’s enough for me
Lyrics to LOVELY by Sara Haze
I don’t want to label you, I want to appreciate you for who you are, where we are..realizing that we are different and beautiful in our differences.
~Barefoot Mama
Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.
