Barefoot Five

 Welcome to our barefoot journey!

We are a family of five living on a small farm in Texas! Me and Billy got married on Long Island on July, 12th 2003. I mean it when I say,  these have been the best years of my life. He is a wonderful man and I adore him! After we got married we moved to MN and lived there for a year. It was really good for us to get away from family and friends for our first year together. It gave us a little time to determine who ” we” were together, without any outside opinions.

We moved to TX for a job opportunity and not long after found out we were expecting our first angel…”Nim”

Our smart, musical, old soul was born in November of 2004. On her first Birthday we moved out to an old farm with a  run down, OVERWHELMING project house that we now call home. This house has been more work than we could have ever imagined. Tons of work, yes! But also a  wonderful home to raise a family in and I am SOOOOO grateful for it.

In June of 2006 we were blessed with our spunky, artistic, character of a girl “Joan”

oh, what a joy! I always say ” God sent joy and laughter into this home when he sent that girl”  We spent the next few years trying to decide if we should have any more children. Okay, truth, I spent the next few years begging for another baby..haha!

And finally in August of 2009 we were given our ” tarzan”

Really, I just don’t think there has ever been such a sweet soul. EVER single second is a gift!

We decided very last minute ( 2 weeks before “yaya” was to start K in public school) that we wanted to home school. We didn’t know how, or for how long, but we knew we couldn’t send her away all day ..just yet. I went into homeschooling, scared out of my mind that we might be making the wrong decision. It has been a beautiful journey so far! Our family has changed so much in the past year and a half. I really do feel like God has been right here with us. Do you ever just know that your supposed to do something? You can’t explain why, you just know! That’s how we felt about homeschooling and now after only a year and a half  I see why. We needed to connect with our God, Our earth and Each other!

I don’t want to forget how we filled these magical days while our children are young. Life is moving so fast and I’m afraid it will all just run together in my memory. I just can’t find the time to keep a journal. I’m hoping by keeping this blog I will be able to hold some of this Magic in a bottle.

Love,  The Barefoot Five
