TOUCH THE EARTH

Man’s heart away from nature becomes hard.

~Standing Bear

I believe we were meant to touch the earth. Maybe it has always been hard for people to find time to go out into Nature and be still, to listen..to connect. It may have always been hard, something you had to work at and strive for but I would like to say, I think it has never been harder than now. Time is moving fast, people even faster and everything and everyone around us screams “move faster, make more money, buy more stuff” I think we are going to have to help each other if we want to change that pattern, if we want to STOP running and find time to listen, to breathe, to connect with the beautiful world around us

Let’s help remind each other take time out of our day to…

Connect

take our shoes off in between appointments, laundry, school work, the never ending to-do list to let our Bare feet touch the earth

plant something and watch it grow

I think it’s really important to use your hands and get close to materials. To be up close to real things like rain and mud; to have contact with NATURE. -Robin day

watch the sunrise

take a minute and love on an animal

stop and listen

go exploring with our children, our grandchildren, our nieces and nephews or just sit back and watch them enjoying the earth with all the Magic that comes along with being a child

Take time to Dance in the Rain

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

– Langston Hughes

be still long enough to let it all in

soak up the beauty of the setting sun

I believe with all my heart, that even just two minutes a day could be enough to give you energy,  inspiration and shine a little light on an otherwise dark day.

If you have made time at any point to connect with the world around you

Please share with us.

Tell us about a beautiful sunset, a moment in nature with your child, the sound of the rain outside your window or the smell of the ocean. Or, share something you have done for the earth lately…started recycling, planted a tree or adopted your first house plant!

Let’s help remind each other of the beauty around us..it’s here for all of us if we will just stop to notice

I don’t want a day to go by when I do not touch the earth and the earth does not touch me

Have you touched the earth today?
